Metito Utilities Limited, a UAE entity, signed last week the agreement with the city of Zrenjanin on development, finance and management of a 25,000m³ wastewater treatment plant.
The project in Zrenjanin is a direct investment of EUR 30 million in the facility that will be developed in 18 months period. The construction will start once the necessary preconditions are fulfilled and the project financing structure is finalized. The investment is important for the local municipality for its value, job creation effect and environmental sustainability of Zrenjanin and its surroundings. The city’s entire sewage system will get connected to the factory that will treat the wastewater. It is expected that, in 30 months from now, water in Begej river that flows through the city, will be considerably cleaner and healthier. Zrenjanin wastewater treatment plant is the first project to be realized through Metito’s Serbia-specific investment and operation platform, named EmSerb Water (ESW).
