Our senior partner, Bogdan Ivanišević, moderated a panel on the legal framework for cyber security in Serbia and the E.U., at the Cyber Security Summit held in Belgrade on October 30. His interlocutors were Dr. Milena Nikolić, contract manager for cyber security at Siemens Energy, and Senad Džananović, Sarajevo-based director of cyber security at ZIRA, an international group that supports telecommunication and media companies in introducing new digital services.
The panelists relied on their rich professional experience to assess the nature of the key obligations contained in the draft law on cyber security in Serbia, compare these obligations with the requirements from the E.U. NIS2 Directive (2022), and assess the prospects for effective implementation of future national legislation.
While the discussion covered a range of issues, Bogdan Ivanišević from BDK specifically focused the discussion on the topics of risk assessment, supply chain security, and incident reporting. Ms. Nikolić and Mr. Džananović provided keen insight into each of these aspects.
The Cyber Security Summit brought together cyber security experts from Serbia and Southeast Europe to discuss the challenges facing businesses and cyber security professionals and explore the latest cyber security trends and solutions in various fields. Speakers included representatives from Microsoft, Mastercard, Addiko Bank, NLB Bank, HTEC Group, United Group, and Erste Bank, among others.
