The Montenegrin Parliament adopted amendments to the Act on Prevention of Money-Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, which entered into force on 12 May 2026.

The National Bank of Serbia has replaced its regulation on digital onboarding and verification of individuals with a new decision published this week. The key change is the introduction of "indirect" video identification allowing NBS-supervised obligors to onboard customers through a fully automated process that does not require a live conversation between a bank employee and the customer at the time of identification.

On 23 April 2026, the Serbian parliament adopted a new Consumer Protection Act. The law contains certain provisions taken from the three EU directives adopted in 2019: Directive 2019/770 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services; Directive 2019/771 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods, and the so-called "Omnibus" Directive 2019/2161 on the better enforcement and modernisation of Union consumer protection rules.
