Data Protection & Privacy

Among the leading law firms in Serbia, Montenegro, and other parts of the former Yugoslavia, BDK Advokati has distinguished itself by developing a uniquely prolific and diverse data protection practice. We have provided legal advice to over 50 leading companies with presence, or anticipated presence, in the regional market. In order to be able to meet the growing clients’ demand, we have beefed up our data protection team, which now comprises five lawyers with expertise in this rapidly developing field.

We have solidified our expertise by closely following legislative developments at the EU level (GDPR), the rich practice of data protection authorities in the countries such as the UK, France, and Italy, opinions of the Article 29 Working Party (now European Data Protection Board), and the writings of Europe’s leading data protection experts.

The focus of our recent work has been on assisting clients in the efforts to bring their data processing practices in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Serbia’s new Data Protection Act (2018) which for the most part copies the GDPR provisions. We have also organized seminars on the GDPR in Podgorica, Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Belgrade.

‘A firm that clients can trust – its service is always of benefit to the client and it is a leading practice for GDPR issues.’
